Hat Sconce is our classic whimsical wall mount fixture design by NYC milliner Marta Baumiller. The Hat Sconce features natural straw braid surrounded by a stylish black grosgrain ribbon. The satin black armature and brass pullchain switch top it off. 

Our milliner’s talents traverse many worlds of design. Marta Baumiller’s work on 7th Avenue brought her much success. Her hat designs appeared in the windows of Bergdorf Goodman, Barneys and Macy’s. So she leveraged her technique to create a unique line of home furnishings. From furniture to carpets to tabletop, straw was expanded as a material. With that, the Hat lamp line was launched. Meanwhile, several restaurants took an interest in our Hat lamps. The business took off. Ms. Baumiller and the entire Lampa family slowly expanded. We’ve broadened the line and now the business blooms in a more rural locale. The garden grows. Furthermore Lampa flourishes too.

Lampa certainly prides itself on designing unusual objects. This sconce typifies that ethos. Woven straw is the material we continue to specialize in. Making lighting with braided straw has caught the public’s imagination from Lower Manhattan to the Southern Caribbean. The Hat Sconce certainly makes the collection complete. The rest is our own unique design history. Finally, the Hat Sconce in LED still sells to a discriminating clientele worldwide. The design world has certainly taken note. To be honest, our Hat Sconce is an absolute wonder! It tops the bunch and keeps everyone smiling. The Hat Sconce lightens the mood in every room.

Finally Lampa is proud to create handmade to order original works. Firstly we use sustainable materials sourced in the US. Secondly, everything is assembled in Aquebogue, New York.
